When a booster fails most of the time what goes out,the rubber diaphragms? The booster for my 91 ZR-1 is getting harder to find and when you do find one at $400 a pop,a little steep.I can still get OEM rebuild parts, would this be the way to go as long as I can get the soft parts for a rebuild?
This is just a suggestion for the future..Excessive heat is what kills the plastic boosters most of the time, either causing them to crack or frying the insides ...To stop plastic brake boosters from cracking and failing, buy some of the adhesive thermal tape and put a couple layers on the side of the booster facing the exhaust manifold or headers..I was having a problem with my plastic booster getting real hot when I installed headers and this thermal tape now keeps the side of the booster from getting hot..It went form so hot I couldn't touch it, to cool enough I can keep my hand on it . Try this thermal tape, it really works.....WW
