Default Electrical and emerg. brake issue

1993 40th Anniv. 2 different issues. First upon taking my car out of storage I realized the trickle charge didn't work. After a jump, the car wouldn't hold a charge. This morning after attempting to start it I noticed a faint clicking when the key was off from engine compartment. Does this mean my battery, starter or alternator is bad? Second I'm having a very hard time releasing my emergency brake. Any suggestions?

thanks

Things to try:

Clean the battery terminals and cable ends. Make sure they are secure but don't strip the threads.

Take the battery to any major parts store for a test/charge/replace.

Pull the ebrake full up, use a flathead screwdriver and a light to look on the outboard side of the lever for a little L shaped foot that moves with the button on top, aim the wand of a PB Blaster can right under that foot and give it one small squirt, work the lever up and down a few times then try to release it.

ON the battery have it tested.

Is your car an auto? How often do you use the hand brake? Did you leave it set ON all winter?

6 speed, use it frequently and it seems to be getting more difficult to release as time goes by. I didn't have it on while in storage.

It might be gummed up. I know from working on mostly jeeps that crud builds up and can make the mechinasim hang. Just spray it with brake cleaner or WD40. Make sure to keep it off the paint.

We've had the issue with the brake lever a number of times. Same thing, it gets harder to release over time. We have found that it is the cables that run from the lever to the brake callipers.......all four of them. We have fixed it by replacing the cables.

Put the hood up and find the click. It might be the cause or it might
be a result of the tired battery. But find it.

What trickle charger did you use? Was it smart (stops charging when
the battery is charged) or dumb (keeps charging no matter what)? The
two most common brands of smart chargers are Battery Tender and
Schumacher.

Clicking stopped now but this morning I tested the (automatic) charger and it didn't work so that was the start of my problem.
Thanks everyone
