Muffler advice after installing headers and converter
I had a set of american racing headers with high flow cats and emmissions fittings installed on my 94 this week. While they were in under there i had them install a 3000rpm torque converter as well but i lost the sound i had in the car before the install. It has a set of magnaflow mufflers on it and it sounded pretty good before but now it sounds like a wind up toy more than anything. Does anyone have a recommendation for some mufflers that will give me back the deeper sound i had before these mods were installed?
Headers, hi-flo cats and Magnaflow. Were talking about hardcore drone. If you are OK with it, Magnaflow will give you a loud V8 sound. There are other type of quiet mufflers like Dynomax, Stainless Works, OBX and Corsa.

Thats EXACTLY the word for the sound. It is a very monotone drone sound. Thanks you for the advice i will look around and see what we have locally around here in OKC.
Am i reading this correctly ...you want your drone back?
No no. Before i put the headers and converter in it wasnt that bad but now it is a really bad drone sound. I am looking for something that sounds good but isnt too loud at cruising speed. Is there any drone free mufflers that doesnt cost an arm and a leg you recommend?

As stated above, Corsa etc. Factory LT1 cat back doesnt drone, but doesnt sound to cool.
Of course, if money wasnt the issue, put 3.75 gears for an auto or 4.11 gears for a 6 speed, and your higher rpms will keep you drone free.
