Where does this wire go
When I took the old harness out of my L98. There was a yellow wire going to the VSS form the PCM and to the inside of the car. Does anyone know what this wire feeds inside the car.

The same wire split to the car as well as VSS from same terminal?
Stock should have been a purple wire with the yellow to VSS.
On '165 equipped cars both go to the dash ;
on '727/LT1 cars they go to the ECM/PCM

You really have to give us more info. Year, etc. It is probably for the volume compensating feature of the stereo.

yes the wire went to VSS input at PCM the other side IDK in my wiring diagram it says ... "to selective ride control (optional)". My VEH does not have this feature. I'm guessing from your statement it goes to the dash.

...or Cruise Control. Both my '94 and '96 FSMs are on loan so I don't have any way to look it up right now.

On your car , the VSS inputs direct to the ECM.
But on the way to the ECM ,the purple and yellow are spliced to the ride control
( assume wiring installed in all cars regardless whether fitted or not )
Green/white output from terminal R8 on ECM supplies the CCM ( to dash )
the cruise and the radio for volume adjust

There are not many LSx swaps. The search will not work this is a "jerry rigged" project.
Didn't you said on your Melrose thread that this forum ruined it for you?

LOL, priceless!
It's amazing that many feel they got bad customer service because they didn't get the answer they wanted.
