Driving the car(probably heat expansion/contraction) seems to make the 2 bolts holding the TPS work loose and allow it movement and of course idle issues after 10-20 miles or so. Luckily my tool-box has a VOM so I can reset and go on.
The bolts holding the TPS may not be the OEM bolts so I am going to replace them before I go home tonight. Does anyone know if it makes any difference what type on materials the bolts are made from? Is it okay to use Blue thread-lock on the bolts?
The original screws were aluminum metric, don't recall the thread pitch. If the screws now are steel, I'd guess they were replaced with the wrong thread and have now damaged the threads. I agree with the thread lock, try it and see how well it holds. Just set the TPS before the thread lock sets up!
