Default Power steering pulley install question

A little help for a C3 guy? I picked up a serpentine setup from an ’89 donor for my ’69 and have questions about the power steering pulley. I received all the parts in a box so I’m trying to sort things out. I have a (new) NAPA P/S pump and installed the pulley (see pic below) and it seems to need to go on further. The pulley is out of alignment with the rest, crank, W/P etc. by about ¼ inch. Not having taken it apart myself (so no reference) I wanted to know if it’s supposed to go on further before I cranked on it any harder and broke something.
Also, during my searches I read something about a retaining clip, soooo I’m guessing there is room to put it further down the shaft in order to make room for the clip and line things up. If true are the clips readily available?

I take it you are using the entire system from the donor car? The pump & alternator bracket etc? I don't recall my shaft sticking out beyond the pulley but I could be mistaken. My '85 has no retaining clip of any kind so unless they started putting clips on the later years I know of no such thing. Hopefully someone with an '89 will see this and give you some insight. Did the pulley seem to be bottomed out against the pump? If it was still going on the pump then it isn't on all the way yet. You will know when it is all the way on. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

It looks right to me, thats an old school style set-up and requires a special puller to remove. That shaft sticking out is what the special puller attaches to so you can pull the pulley off.
