Brake Conversion on '86
I am thinking of switching to later style brakes on my '86. What is involved in changing the rear internal brake shoe type to a later parking brake system?

buy one of the C5 Conversion kits from VetteBrakes, i wouldnt bother with the rears unless you are racing, or at least until you think you really need it.

C5 would be ideal but you need GS or similar rims to fit the calipers. If you don't have the rims, try the GS brakes. I think they fit in your stock rims. I put together the same package as the VBP C5 upgrade for $250 less with z06 calipers using http://www.electro-dynamics.com and Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevrolet. I'd give Jeff a call.
