Z52 which was only available on the 87 and 88 model years had slightly stiffer shocks than the base suspension shocks but Z52 also used the base springs. The front sway bar was larger and made from solid steel while the base front bar was smaller and tubular. Both the base and Z52 rear bars were the same.
Z52 also got the aux fan, quick ratio steering, HD radiator, and some chassis stiffening components.
