My engine surges when the AC is on, why? is this normal engine operation or do I have a problem that needs to be resolved? I recently had the system recharged with R134 but haven't done anything else to the system. any ideas?

 

If the compresser is kicking on and off then the surger is from the load the compresser is causing

 

If you have one of the earlier C4s and the frizbee has been removed, then this could be the problem .. Always list what year car we are talking about....WW
