Default No start c4 (1990)

Hi, I'm new at this, so please be patient. I bought my '90 convertible about two months ago. It was sitting for a couple of years. Started & ran fine for about 100 miles, then started having problems running. So far I have replaced the fuel filter, cap & rotor & plugs, rebuilt injectors from Jon, etc. It seems as soon as I put the new injectors in it had a little hesitation. The hesitation got worse ( all within 100 miles), now it won't start ! Could the ECM be bad ? I thought about the ignition module, but I thought it would just die if that was bad ? Also, there's no check engine light or codes. Any help, would be greatly appreciated.

Check for proper fuel pressure. This is an easy and inexpensive test that will verify the fuel supply. It should be about 41-47 psi...with the key on engine off. Low pressure or no pressure indicates a fuel pump problem.

Also, since you replaced the cap make sure that the wire supplying battery voltage to the distributor has not come loose.

Both of these items can cause a no start situation...I've had both happen to me.

You should've changed the module too, I did. I changed everything so I could start fresh. Have the module checked-out at the local parts store, they should have the tester for it.

As crazy as this sounds, but have you changed out your gas cap? When I bought mine I had managed to get a lot of water in the gas tank because of a faulty cap, which would not allow the car to start. You may want to pull the fuel pump/sending unit and have a good look. Worst case scenario, drain and refill, plus a new cap. Worth a look if all else fails

Check to make sure you have all the spark plug wires in the correct holes in the distributor cap. It's surprising how well these engines will run with two wires swapped... One way to check this is to measure/feel the exhaust manifold pipes at the heads. If you've got cold pipes then you've got cylinders that aren't firing (at the correct time, if at all).
