How in the world does one tell if an FX3 shock is working correctly?
I can tell a mild differnce between tour and performance, but nothing in between on sport.
I suspect that my system is not working at 100%, or it just does not deliver the amount of performace change i was thinking it would.
Any comments would be appriciated! Thanks!!
Mine's the same way, not a big difference between settings. You can get your shocks re-valved and get a chip from DRM. You'll feel a massive change between settings then.

I concur. As long as the dreaded "Service Ride Control" light isn't on, you're probably good-to-go.
Plus, it's cool to psyche the stool out of newbie passengers as you reach down to twist the FX-3 Selector Switch just as you're setting up for a hairpin turn!
Mervz, I still think your system is working perfectly fine from when I test drove it for you. I was switching between settings a lot during the drive and the car was noticeably (to me at least) different. There was much less body roll coming into corners harder in the stiffer settings.
The service ride control light just came on in my 95 Z07. Local dealer inspects and sez rear shocks are bad + all 4 actuators are bad. I can believe that the shocks need to be rebuilt, but think it's about impossible that all 4 actuators died at once. :bs I plan to pull the top off the actuators and check them by watching for sproket rotation while turning the key to "ON", then changing the settings on the console switch. I will also clean and inspect all connections. I think I could check resistance at the actuator connector to make sure one of the connections isn't weak or bad, but I don't know what the proper resistance value is. My feeling is that the dealer is covering their a** by getting me to replace all the parts at the corners before they explore whether the control module is bad. Their incentive would be that GMPP won't pay for the shocks/actuators (!!!), but the module would be covered by extended warranty.

After some experimentation on the way home today, i'll have to agree. Its just not as much differnce as i thought it was going to be. Also, changing back and forth doesn't really give any sence of it. Its best to drive on Perf for a few miles, get used to it, then turn it down to tour. Its alot smoother... :)

We'll have to find a chunk of highway construction and make a few passes on it. :)
