Default a/c removal

just wondering if any one had any idea how I can perminately remove my dead a/c comp. Is there a kit for sale that replaces the compressor pulley? Thanks ahead for any input. :flag

I think you can just pull it all out and just go buy a smaller serpintine belt. I would wait for someone who actually knows what they're talking about to chime in before going and doing it though.

I did this on my car. It is very easy. You just take out the compressor. Then the belt will run around the belt tensioner in the oposite direction. If you study this rotten picture I have closely you can kind of see how it is routed. What I did was cut the original belt. Then wrap it around the pulleys the way you want it to go and overlap the cut end. Pull it as tight as you can and make a mark where they overlap. Then take that to the store and put it on their belt measuring thingy and see what you got for size. Then buy a belt about a quarter inch shorter since you couldn't have pulled it tight enough with your hands. I have put quite a few hard miles on mine since doing this and have no problems. I think the belt size I ended up with was a 765k6 or something. Good luck.
