Default Temp gauges read different

I have 94 LT1 coupe that has a discrepancy between the digital and analog tempurature gauges. The digital temp reads what appears to be normal temp (195/210) the analog (dial in ist. panel) reads all the way to the grey warning section at which point the cooling fans come on. Why would I get this different readings. No coolant is boiling out anyplace. The check engine light came on but did not store a code. When I restart the check engine light does not come back on.
I have replaced all the hoses belts, water pump, temp sending unit and the fan temp switch, flushed the radiator, opened the bleed screws, and refilled with new coolant as descibed in the manual.
I also cleaned all the debris from the radiator and the trans cooler.
Any Ideas?
