I wrecked my baby and the insurance company has totaled it due to damaged: hood, front clip, headlight, rear wrap around panel, two bent rims, broken trailing arm, etc.
They want to cut me a check for $7500. Even though this is an ok deal per blue book, you cannot replace the car for that. Its a yellow pace car with 86K on the clock. Its not my daily driver so im holding out for more money. Where can i go to find the "sale value" for that vehicle? Replacement value. I cannot find any for sale online and now thats its been wrecked our local corvette shops do not want to appraise it for me.

Suggestions..
Look up your local state laws.. In TX they have to give you enough to buy a comparable vehicle. They will always try to cheap out..you have to fight it.
try to negotiate but, more than likely is sounds like you have standard insurance on the car rather than specialty insurance with a pre-determined agreed upon value. You might be in taking what they give you like Vader86 did a few months ago on his modified 86.
Check Mecum and Barret Jackson auctions results for better pricing altho I havent seen a true Pacer (yellow) recently. As far as I am concerned it is one of the collectible C4s and should bring a premium over base C4s Fight em tooth and nail, luckily parts are readily available and you may be able to buy back the car cheap enough to fix it
RIP vader. Yea i think theyll give her back for 1800 but then shes salvage. I fount kbb has a classic car bb section. Shes listed at 13k average and 23k high. I may have to sick my attorney on them. Thanks guys.
I got Condon & Skelly collector-car insurance and have full coverage for our agreed value of 13K. It only cost about $300 a year, you just need to have a daily driver on another policy and store your classic in a garage.
Sorry for your loss. They are kind of like family aren't they. My wife has a 87 Conv that is like new, approx 60k miles. She will sell for $12k. She is handicapped now and can no longer drive it. We moved form Illinois to Ky and I deployed to Kuwait. She gave it one last drive and said thats it she can no longer get in/out without great difficulty. Here is one pic of it in the background.
