Here's a thread w/all you need to know about C4 instrument cluster bulbs;
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...ent-guide.html
Note you should probably go with Xenon bulbs that GM went to exclusively in the '89 model year. Keep in mind the reason GM went to the lower heat producing Xenon bulbs in the first place was that they found that the earlier model years #882 Halogens were burning up the sockets and then the boards after years of use in the '84~'88 instrument clusters.

Replace your signal and brights indicators while you're at it (#74). I got lazy, and couple months later I was pulling the cluster again. It's especially bad not having a signal indicator in these cars since you can rarely hear the flasher clicking, and can drive for miles not knowing.
You could replace just the 882 bulbs using a rubber hose and a dowel. Push the hose onto the bulb and it'll come out with the hose. Putting it back in is a bit trickier, you need to use the hose to put the bulb into position, then stick a dowel through the hose to push the bulb in and get the hose to let go of the bulb. You're better off replacing the holders too though, they get a bit crispy. It doesnt take that much longer.

GE 882 bulbs are the correct replacements. Should be about $5 - $6.

Thanks for the help! I have gone on to look at those threads before I posted my question. There was one reply that insisted on using 194
bulbs. Then the next response was No! thats wrong!!. Same thing with the 882's. It was a lot easier with my old 70 1/2 Camaro RS.!!! I'll keep
on searching here in Kelowna.
