The passenger window won't roll down. It stopped working a couple months ago and then a few days later it worked again magically. Now it has been dead for a couple weeks. I can see the volts drop on the dash when I try to roll it down so I know it has power. Any idea what I should look for? Do these motors typically go out or do you think the window is stuck? I have a 92 with 40K miles.
More than likely the motor has went out, usually they will intermittently work if you play with the switch for long enough. Be careful though, as you don't want it to get stuck in the down position. Have you checked all of the connectors ? You could try to roll the window up or down with the door open, or try pulling/pushing gently on the window while pushing the windowo switch to see if it has gotten stuck. Usually if it is stuck, you can hear the motor binding, or hear a clunk if you try to move up and then down. Hope this helps.
Try to hit the door at the bottom while using the window switch. That might get it down, mine now sticks when the window is down and that's how I get it back up. Not looking forward to replacing the motor :smash:

My driver's side crapped out. I took the motor apart and found that one of the springs that holds the brushes in contact with the commutator was rusted through. I bent the first coil straight and put it back together after 'freshening up' the weather seal. My passenger-side occasionally stops working immediately after washing the car, I suspect water in the motor due to a rotten seal is the culprit there too. Costs almost nothing to fix if you don't mind rebuilding electric motors.
