I'm picking up an open trailer soon, and need to get tie-downs for it. So far my research has indicated that T-hooks are the right thing -- this is was the Towing Guide on awdirect.com says, and is considered the normal "GM" style. But... doing some more searches here I've seen a couple of references that T-hooks aren't ideal for a C4.
What are you guys using in real life? If it makes any difference, the car is a '96, and at factory spec ride height.
I do like "Rich S" above me, hooks on the ends of the tie-downs, except I use axle straps on the FRONT as well, I wrap them around the front of the lower control arms, and hook the strap to that. Minimal chassis bounce at that location. I hook the other end to "D"-rings mounted on the trailer.
Crossing the straps in back is important.
I have many "D"-rings on my trailer so I can haul other cars / equipment. Make it versatile!
A "wheel stop" at the front is useful if you have a clutch car.
