Hi, I have never had an issue with my check engine light. Recently I put new injectors in my '85. Since then the check engine light comes on after about 15 minutes on the Freeway. The EGR looked fine but the EGR control valve relay solenoid got damaged. So I ordered one from ZIP Corvette and put it in today. My hope was that the check engine light would go out once I installed the control valve. It didn't. So my question is this; maybe everything is fine but the computer or code needs to be reset? Could that be? if so, how would I reset the computer or code? I unhooked the battery and that didn't seem to make any difference. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Jay

What codes do you have showing ; may not be related to the work you have done

Disconnecting the battery only clears the stored code(s) ;
doesn't make the problem that caused the code in the first place to go away.
If the light continues to come on the problem is still happening.
Thanks, I'm taking it on a 2000 mile road trip on Monday and am out of repair money so I will probably drive it the way it is. Mileage is still 29 on the freeway and it runs good. Jay
Pulling the codes is the first thing you do when the SES light comes on because that is the computer telling you that you have a problem ( and what area problem is in )
