Default LTCC help

I've send an email to Bailey about this just waiting to hear back from him. I just installed the LTCC on my 95 corvette. I have a green light in the box but the car will not start unless I press on the gas peddle. When it does start it backfires and runs ruff. At higher rpm speeds it stops backfiring but still runs a little ruff. I'm using an MSD opti, OEM LS1 coils and OEM LQ9 truck plug wires with a custom tuned PCM for my H/C setup. It feels like the timing is off. No check engine light and the tach worked fine when I drove it around the block. Any ideas as where to start trouble shooting. I looked over the plug wires and made sure they are on tight but have not taken them off to see if a crimp came loose.(changed the straight boot to 90) I also played with the timing on the opti to see if it made a difference which it did not. If I can't get this working I'll go back to stock and deal with the ICM at least the Vette would start.

Jonnymac,

Check to make sure that the correct connection to each coil is correct. If the coil connectors are not hooked up to the right coils firing the right cylinders, your car will not run right.

Here's the correct setup:
Coil #1 pink, purple, brown, black
Coil#2 pink, red/white stripe, brown/white stripe, black
Coil #3 pink/white stripe, light blue, brown, black
Coil #4 pink, dark green/white stripe, brown/white stripe, black

Coil #5 pink/white stripe, dark green, brown, black
Coil #6 pink, light blue/white stripe, brown/white stripe, black
Coil #7 pink/white stripe, red, brown, black
Coil #8 pink, purple/white stripe, brown/white stripe, black

Remember, on a Chevy small block the driver's side of the block from front to back is 1, 3, 5 and 7 cylinders; the passenger side is 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Your firing order is standard Chevy small block.

Good luck.

Mark

Also make sure that the ground wires for each coil are to a REALLY good ground.

What I did was run the coil grounds to a bolt on the rails that I made for the coils and then from that point ran a ground wire over to a bolt that holds the alternator to the alternator bracket.

Mark I owe you a beer. 1357 needed to be reversed. Anybody installing this in the future just take Baileys instruction manual and toss it in the garbage. Now if you don't mind I'm going for a ride.

Glad I could help. My LTCC install turned out pretty sweet and I love it. More people should consider this swap.

Good luck!!

Went out for a test ride. The engine ran great but on the way home the clutch slave went out. It just never ends.
