I'm getting a code 23 on my stock 91 6 speed. I have no idea what this is. Any help would be appreciated. I've got to get an emissions sticker next week and dont need any complications.

Re: Code 23? (72vetteman)
This advice is based upon my 89, which may be different.
The code is for the MAT sensor. It is located under the plenum toward the back, goes up into the bottom of the plenum from underneith.
Sounds like it is disconnected, wire broken, bad connection or very bad sensor.
If you can get to it, the sensor should have resistance of 185 ohms at 210* and 25,000 ohms at 0*. At 70* it should read about 3,400 ohms with an ohm meter.
To set this code, yours is reading more than 50,000 ohms.
I dont. I can take it to a friend of mine that is a mechanic by trade and he should be able to fix it for me but I wanted to know what was wrong with it before I took it to him as to lessen his time working on it. Thanks
