Default 1990 running rough and no start when hot

I have a 1990 corvette 12000 miles. Running good one day and then the next it was running rich and rough on start up. When it sat and ran for awhile it finally stalled out and would not start. fuel pressure at 45 psi and did not leak down when shut off.Changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, computer, igniton module,Double checked that firing order was correct. Could the prom be bad? I'm stumped on this one.Tomorrow going to check the tps,iac and egr.Anyone have any ideas.Like I said the car is really low mileage.Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Mike

check codes for a 15. if it is indeed too rich, defective coolant temp sensor may be signaling engine is cold.

joe

** also, if in open loop o2 sensore may be def, code 44 or 45.
** should say CLOSED LOOP, when o2 sensors are determining fuel/air

Last edited by joe paco; Jun 21, 2012 at 08:40 PM. Reason: ** add, correct to CLOSED LOOP

Is the coolant temp sensor on the head or manifold? Its been awhile i,ve worked on obd1.How do you check the codes without a scanner?I remember jumping the pins?

it's on the front edge of manifold, pass side, two wires, not the coolant temp GUAGE, which is in head, mid pass side.

on the aldl, jump terminal A to B, KEY OFF. a -b-c are together at top, 2 empty spaces, then f.
turn key on.
the check engine light, or whatever, will start blinking, count the signals, 1, then 2, followed by 3 seconds, then 12 again.

it will proceed thru the stored codes. count the number of flashes. when it is thru it till do a 12 again.

hell, I don't know if this it right! been a while since I did a, b. I generally do a-g, to read ccm and ecm at the dash panel speedometer area.

try it, if it ain't accurate, someone will correct me, I am sure.

turn off key before using the jumper wire.
