Damn! Those are nice gains with porting! Amazing potential released. Ron kills it again. Dollar for dollar, the "Ron Mod" is the best bang for the buck. And no need to refill a bottle. Well...you might have to buy him some beer, but you keep those bottles cold, not hot.

Thanks for the words guys
This is probably old news to guys that have been playing with TPI intakes much longer than myself not doing anything ground breaking

I will say more and more Im impressed with the superram intake it is so versatile and makes good gains in anything from a stock 350 on up depending.

Should there ever be a C4 in my future a SR would definitely go up top...maybe build that 400 block laying around. What a killer DD that would make.

Not right now though.

Anyway dont want to hijack Steves thread too much

I've always liked the SR. It's a great design. Given the choice between it and the miniram, I was a sucker for the MR and picked one up. I wanted to try for some rpms....but you know, with porting, an SR seems to provide all the extra rpm pull you would want in a hydraulic roller block and still hold stout for low end torque that made the original TPI popular.

Guess you can't go wrong either way.

Well folks, it's time to show the numbers as I got to run the car last night at my local 1/8 mile strip, Countyline Raceway. It was a typical hot, humid Florida night with temp's still in the 80's when the racing started. I got in 4 runs throughout the night as the place was crowded being a holiday weekend with both a 6.50 class race and a bracket race, with a big purse.
After my first run, when I picked up my slip, I couldn't have been more pleased. My first run was faster than any other I have ever run!! I turned a 8.009 et @ 88.21 mph, with a 1.761 60 foot time.
Today, as I write this, I decided to best describe the gains from Ron's excellent porting work on my SR set up, by taking some before and after averages. I found 9 slips in my car run before the porting job, and had 4 runs on the new porting job.
Here's how it worked out.
Before averages: 60 ft.= 1.9605 seconds
MPH. = 84.260 mph averag
et. = 8.330 seconds

After Porting: 60 ft. = 1.787 seconds
MPH. = 87.21 ave.
et. = 8.050 seconds

Those figures equal a gain of 2.95 miles per hour, .280 seconds faster et, and 0.1735 increase in speed at 60 ft.! The bonus was that I took 4th in the Bracken rase, and won $200 !!. A big thanks goes out to Ron Kalthoff for a great professional job of porting and polishing on my Super Ram. Well done!

My best run of the night was the 8.009 et @ 88.21 MPH, in fat, humid and very hot air.
I feel sure that on a cooler, dryer night I will break into the 7 second area. Now, all that remains is to take a 130 mile trip to West Palm Beach raceway and see how she does in the 1/4 mile!
