a/c problems
ok i have a 84 targa, and the ac isnt working, the majority of the parts are new with the exception of the ac compresser. the ac relay is brand new, and i replaced the fuse checked the ac and the fuse was blown.
so its short right?
if so where should i check for the short?

Assuming your function control switch is in a position other than off, and if you have a multi-meter, disconnect the blower motor, ( fuse out) and check for continuity on the plug. Infinity is good, low resistance means something between the plug and control sw. is shorted to grnd. If no resistance check resistance of the blower. Also possible is a shorted or jammed comp. clutch..

Is the problem in the compressor/wiring/switch or the blower motor/wiring/switch?
We need more information to narrow down the area with the problem.
You could try unplugging the compressor and/or the blower resistor module and see if that stops the fuse from blowing.
