....looks like it is going to be the left wheel bearing. :yesnod: I've replaced the right one already last year, I guess it was time for this one to go. I'll check it for play tonight, but the wandering on the highway feels just like when the right one went. And if the bearing is gone, that almost certainly means the u-joints will be trashed over there too. Gives me a great excuse to toss in a new halfshaft with the cold forged u-joints in now. :)
So, now I'm glad I didn't go to the Cruise In. This is only 900 miles since I finished the car which means it would of happened just as I entered Kentucky had I driven down. It would of sucked for it to completely GO 1/2 way during the trip home. :)
wow! You dodged a bullet! From the title, I thought it was reciprocating assembly related.
There was one guy I thought I saw a pic of, who lost his tranny heading into Kentucky(?) before the CI. Nice choice with the Spicers. Same here. Ready for the safety loop?
It gets better. On the way home from work a Jeep Cherokee about 6 lengths ahead of me put a rock through my windshield. :( I can't get a break today.....
Well I just finished changing hte u-joints and bearing assembly. On my test drive the paper flew out the window on the highway that had the license plate written down for the car that busted my window. Grrr....
One of the handful (and it is a small handful) of good things about living in MA is that glass coverage has a mandated by law $0.00 deductible, and your premium is not allowed to go up for glass replacement. So it will only set me back time & aggravation.
