Default Various questions inside

I have numerous problems with the 95 and hope to get some answers from the forum about them and possibly get them fixed. :)

1) Door panel has been off the door since I bought it, have tried numerous times, cant get it to seat properly back on the door.

2) Car is an auto, trans temp ranges anywhere from 210-230 during normal driving. When driving in the rain last night, it stayed at a consistent 190. Is this normal and if not, would a cooler bring the temps back to normal levels?

3) When accelerating, rearend makes a slight *snap*. Is this normal for the leaf spring in the rear or is it another noise?

4) On my climate control, no matter what setting I choose, air only comes from the floor and defrost vents. Normally when switching from defrost to vent, there is a vacuum (swoosh) sound and I dont hear that. Possible vacuum leak?

5) This may be related to no. 4 but my cruise is inoperable as well. My first thought was a vacuum leak but I am unable to find anything.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Mike

I'll take a shot at the tranny temps. Those are fine numbers for stock setup. The tranny fluid actually runs through the right side of the radiator. There is a small cooler built into the radiator to cool the tranny fluid with coolant. So, the tranny fluid will/should be fairely close in temp to coolant. If you are going to do much spirited (i.e: drive it like ya stole it) driving then you should consider putting in an additional cooler. Good luck.

have had a few door panels off i know they can be difficult. in my experience, you just keep fitting it and make sure to clear any obstructions and it will eventually find its home. as for a snap in the rear i would check the u-joints. if it is your leaf spring, that is a problem as leaf springs ought not snap.

I will take a shot at Door # 4 ..... Under the fuel rail cover on the passenger side toward the back of the engine you will find a small plastic ball valve with I believe three vacuum lines going to and fro. This was the culprit on my 94's air flow problem, Mine was just all blowing out the floor, I changed this 2-3 dollar part and it works fine.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle !! Pulled the pass. side fuel rail cover off and found out one of the vacuum lines was just hanging there. Apparently this check-ball you make reference to has a broken tip on it, thereby not providing a connection for this vacuum line.

THANK YOU for the tip Jason !!! Where did you get the replacement part from?

Mike (very happy today)
