Default Tips on re-installing slave cylinder

I took the slave cylinder off to get to the back up light switch. I'm having no luck getting it back on. I wonder if the rod came out, it's all over the place. Shouldn't it be centered? Any help is greatly appreciated, I miss driving the car and the weather is nice today.

I was able to get the slave cylinder back on and it seems to be working fine, but what a pain in the A$$. I sold the car in my avatar, I'll have to change the picture and bought a 91 ZR1. It's faster than the LT1, but I still liked that car. I mean how fast do you really need to go.

I'm not really sure. I just kept trying and finally was able to install it. The rod has to be centered obviously in the transmission and I just put pressure on the back of the cylinder and was able to get one nut on a few threads. I tightened it a bit and then was able to put the other nut on, and then just tightened both a few turns at a time. If I had a lift it would have been much easier, the lack of room makes it much more difficult.

When I put my slave cylinder on, it seems that there's a point where it "pops" in. I move the cylinder around a little bit as I'm trying to force it into the housing. I know the rod needs to be in the center point of the arm, and there is an indentation for it there. I guess that once it gets lined up just right, it fits.

I agree, this job is not fun.
