Ok here is what is going on. I had my air conditioner fixed and its working great no problems . Today I start up the car and the display doesn't show the outside temperture it just shows a line ---. Nothing changes when you push up and down. When the unit comes on the air comes out of the defroster. If you hit the auto button it will come out of the air ducts for 10-15 seconds and then back to the defroster. The lights under each button don't come on when you push a button. So it doesn't show under off or auto when you push the buttons. When you hit a button it seems to send the air to the correct spot but it always goes back to the defroster. the air is cold so the air is working. Any ideas??

I've had issues with that thing on my 95. I read somewhere that you can take it apart and clean up the contacts inside. Did this a couple of months ago and have had no problems since. It is easy to do, just pull the upper console panel below the vent and the rest of is is easy to see. Take care when you take it apart, it's not complicated but can be reassembled wrong it you aren't paying attention.
