Back in the days before remote power locks, you could buy a door lock key with a little light on it to help you find the keyhole in the dark. After looking around for years, I concluded that they are no longer available, likely due to zero demand.
But, you can buy a lighted house key for about four bucks. As an experiment, I bought one of those, cut it open, and removed the key blank, then used it as a pattern to cut down the head of a standard door lock key. I then glued it back together, using super glue, being careful about applying too much. I have been using it for several months now, it works great, and has no issues. The battery is even replaceable.
Cool idea, buy I can't see there being a big demand for it.........at least as far as cars go. How many people actually put a key in a lock cylinder nowadays?

Those of us without PKE have no other choice if we want to lock the car. Antiquated, I know, but at least, they don't run on steam!
