93 Cruise control

Center (shift) console started to falling apart. The drive pointer/selector and panel separated and dropped below its normal position. Wound up removing the trim panel and clean up/vacuum the exposed area.
Inspecting the backside of the panel - realized the bossed internal threads broke cleanly off the panel; still attached to the indicator sub panel. Ended up using slow-acting epoxy to reattach the pieces back together.
Afterwards - tackled the cruise control which was non functional at time I bought it. After getting familiar with the major components and diagrams from the FSM... realized a few things.
Clue #1: The original vacuum lines were just disintegrating from the acidic vapors from the battery. Ok... time to replace the lines.
Clue #2: The vacuum check valve was in pieces... and located a plastic replacement.
The test drive restored the functionality... nice!
Was slightly confused - until I checked the schematics... no indicator light.
Guess a Corvette's last concern is speed.
Which reminded me - wasn't there a recent thread showing of a steel version of the vacuum check valve?
