LTPWS How long do they last?
I do not know much about the C4 tire pressure sensors.
In a C5 they have a battery and seem to last about 8 to 10 years before needing a replacement or a repair (by replacing the battery).
Do the C4 sensors have a battery or some expected life? I could not find any threads about repairing the sensors by replacing batteries, so I am wondering how they work.

The sensors have what are called "Pizo Batteries". They generate energy when they are agitated by the tire rotating.
Their like the flashlight you shake & have light for a few minutes or so.
I doubt if anyone repairs the sensors(s)????

Never seen anyone offer repairs.
Early systems - '89 - broke frequently from the Factory only the contractor was belly-up and there were no warranty parts. Used are available, but there's no guarantee on any of the parts (that I've found). Most often, again on these early years, it's the Receiver. Not well shielded and it can set of false alarms if the car next to you has enough electrical noise.
