Default Lt1 oil pressure help

I have a 94' that just recently did the trick flow top end kit and forged out the motor. When i start the car oil pressure is around 40 or so but when it gets hot its low (less than 10) and the check gauges light will come one intermittently but never stays on this is worrying me i never remembered it getting like that. and when im cruising or hit gas the pressure never goes over 40 is this normal? any help is appreciated

"Forged out the motor"? What is that? If it means you put in a new forged crank, new forged pistons, and new rods then you may have an issue with bearing clearance. What are the main and rod bearing clearances?

Another much better possibility is that the oil pressure sending unit located aft of the intake on the driver's side is bad. Pull the electrical connector. If you strike oil, you have your answer.

If it was a full-up rebuild, did you replace the ball plug that goes in the oil gallery under the rear main cap? Leaving that ball out will result in low oil pressure.

there are a zillion threads on lt oil pressure. some owners just accept low oil pressure as a fact of life..not sure how that works out in the long run, but whatever. My LT4 always seemed very sensitive to oil temp, and of course, an oil cooler was deleted on LT engines...with all that said, try putting in an heavier wieht of oil.

Did you contacted the shop that did the work and ask them about it? Do you have a warranty on their work? They may have not got it back together correctly.
