Finally got the A/C straightened out but as always a new problem arose. The air was so cold that it was fogging up the outside of the windshield on these very humid days. Attempted to put a little heat on it with the heater control and found it jammed. Tried to loosen it and it popped off the attachment arm inside of control panel. After removing radio and getting the heater control off....I found the cable had come off its mooring point. Still very hard to reposition. Found a ton of mouse nests on the inside! I am not sure where it reattaches to the heater(water control valve?). Wherever it is I believe it is being blocked by a mouse nest! or rusted? I cannot find it's location yet in the Service Manual. Anyone ever get into this mess? It is a downright miracle that this vette runs halfway right! I removed about 2 basketball sized mounds of mice debris! Does the heater cable end at blower somewhere? I am trying to be positive...but the blower "hole" may filled with debris also! Any suggestions gladly welcome! Send me a page number from the SM if you happen to find it!
Thanks

That cable goes from the HOT - COLD lever on the HVAC control panel to the "temperature door" (as the FSM calls it). A lot of people call it the "blend door" or "air mix door". It's right above your toes when you're sitting in the passenger seat. The temp door cable is mounted to the housing that covers the heater core.
Here's a picture from the parts book. The cable attaches to lever #5, which attaches to rod #13, which moves temperature door #15. There's some kind of clip on bracket #7 that holds the cable. I don't know the details because I have the C68 automatic HVAC, which has a motor that does this function.
