Default lightweight seat brackets for c4 seats?

Ive had my c4 seats out a couple times and they are heavy.

The issue is not the plastic/composite shell, foam, but rather the brackets on the bottom and motors.

Does anyone make any 'billet' type brackets, non-power-seat, brackets for these?

I know that corbeau a4's are a popular option, but Im not convinced all the jury-rigging, cost, and such are worth it to get a weight savings.

In fact, Im not convinced theres much of a weight savings there at all - once you add brackets to it (the corbeau seat weight of 26 lbs is without brackets...prob about the same or more than a stock c4 seat).

......... C4's were built with manual seat adjusters ... find some of those and do away with the electric luxuries .............

It's interesting that you say the seats are so heavy, because I recently put my passenger seat back in and I thought it was very light. I do have the manual seats, though...

I saved 40lbs going with these. Probably not good for road racing though.

Thanks for the photos.

Yes, what you have seems to be the most favored seat setup for the racers.

Even better than the high dollar carbon-fiber bucket seats from Sparco, or recaro or the likes.. (that require an extra steel brace on the back of the bucket! )

How comfortable are those seats? Do you drive your car to the track?

Would you still be 'limber' after a 6 hour trip?

I bet the key is what kind of padding you add to the seats.

The back of the seat has to be supported. This is a drag race seat only. No padding except for a 1/4" of naugahide. No side support. Just lightweight aluminum. It's actually pretty comfortable (wife hates it), but I wouldn't want to spend a long time in there. I trailer it to the races. Willie
