How hot will it get ?

Being in Texas, I guess the heat is normal for you. Weve set about 10 temp records this summer. In my lifetime weve had a few 101*days and thats it. This year we had about 10 106* days. Normal would be low 90*s.

If your coolant starts boiling then you definitely need to shut it down. GM says to shut off the engine at 260 which is just before the coolant boils. You shouldn't kill your engine if you follow those guidelines though obviously there are some who don't feel comfortable letting their engine get that warm.

I do my own chip tuning. Have ever since I switched to E85. I just dont recall what temp I set the fan to come on.
