I upgraded my driving lights to 50w bulbs, checked all the wiring for any hot spots after I got them put in, all seemed okay but tonight when I turned them on they were fine for about 20-30 minutes then it seems like the fuse melted, they didn't just go out they dimmed first. I have put in a 15 amp fuse instead of the 10 amp that was in there but I am wondering if I am doing the wrong thing, I would hate to have to rewire the car. Any advice from someone who knows?
I did HID fog lights in my 86 and they were fine for about a year (but not much use). Suddenly started popping fuses (10 and 15).
Had to put relays in - did one for each side.
No more issues and the flickering stopped.
Really easy to do and the old wiring will appreciate it. The chance of a fire also go down considerably.
I could take a pic of the "additions" to the FSM schematics if you need me to.
