I'm pm ing you my email address, it will be easier to send pics that way and yes I would like to see your setup.

It really wasn't difficult.

It takes a little time and it is always cool to have something applied to something it was not intended for.
I would appreciate hearing what you are asking for the intake, please include the cost of the shim also. I will also pm you my email for further discussion.

RWD smoke and cgantner5150, after not doing much of anything today other than thinking about my intake options I have decided the LT 1 conversion is not for me. This is my final decision. I want to thank you both for your offers of assistance. Whatever I do decide to do will be a straight forward bolt on with no major modifications.

Good idea. That is something to think about if you get the whole setup for like 300 or just can't afford anything.

MR intakes come and go cheap on third gen. I got an MR 2 with 30lb injectors / rails and lines for 600. More than worth it.

I'm going to have to start scouring the for sale sections I guess but what I really want is the HSR but it won't fit under my hood. I've already made the mistake of the small rear spoiler so I'm not about to cut up my hood. Chaos did a great job making his fit but that's getting right back into making major mods.

Dude If you are close I will hook you up. There is always the USM option, if they still make them. I think what polo said is also a good Idea.. keep an eye out for a miniram.

Thanks but I am in Illinois. I'm just going to sit back & see what comes available. If I do go with the HSR I will be modding the hood even tho I said I wouldn't. I've been searching for a post where someone put an L-88 style scoop on their C4 and it really looked fantastic. If the owner of that car sees this, please guide me to that thread again or post more pics of your hood.

One of the Mags had an artical a while back on installing a Edelbrock Pro-flo intake. Fit with minor grinding to the throttle body. Just a suggestion if you do not want to modify the stock hood.

You got a heck of a deal. I think I paid TPIS $1100 for mine and I thought that was good.

I forgot about those. It really is that good a fit? What about the TB what kind would you use and what would have to be modded?

Thanks, I'll certainly check that one out. Anyone who has been following this thread knows I have changed my mind a dozen times. I just can't bring myself to cut my hood even tho I really like the L-88 and the way it looks on a C4. Thanks chaos, some others also found it too and I found the thread I was talking about is was cgantner's home done paint job thread. His is very informative but the one you found has a lot more pics to really see how they look in different colors.
Come back at this same time tomorrow and I may have changed my mind again.

I still like the Idea of going with a Toledo hood and a as is HSR. I would have done that if budget permitted.

Sorry man, just saw the posts about the L88 hood. We've been a little busy with Hurricane clean up. At least we have power - was on a genny for a couple of days.
Any questions about the hood mods, just ask. If I go single plane, I'll have an untouched HSR setup for sale.

I checked out the Pro Flo and I really like the way it looks. I would also like to hear what is involved in the swap and if the performance gain is worth it. I already know it would take a small cap dist. and I also know how to install one on my car but what about things such as the TPS? Is there an IAC? I especially like the fact of no hood surgery so if anyone can enlighten me on this setup please do so.

Hey, no need to apologize, it isn't like you haven't had other things to attend to. I'm just glad to hear your okay. While I think your hood is simply beautiful I just can't bring myself to cut mine so that eliminates the hood scoop, (maybe) and the HSR.

We did fine - EXCEPT - the Vette was safely tucked in the carport when all of a sudden.....
The gutter downspout blew off and hit my hood and passenger side mirror. Scratched it just behind the front tire on the side of the hood and it scratched the mirror.
Hopefully it will buff out of the hood. The mirror scratch is the worst buy it is much easier to repaint (have paint left over as well, thankfully).

I heard the noise and knew immediately what it was. Damn!

Thanks for that link, it answered a lot of my questions. Yep, it looks as if I will be changing my mind again. I really like the look of the Pro Flo XT and there weren't any mods that couldn't be handled with ease.
