c4 chassis
Hi all, thanks for reading my post. I would like to put my 383 w/nitrous into a c4 vette but I worry about the chassis
Can the stock c4 handle the high torqe or does it need some sort of chassis connectors like the camaros / novas did?

Thanks I thought the c4 Corvette was different because of the 'bird cage,' frame

The "C" beam also helps with chassis integrity.
With sticky tires stub axles & half shafts are likely to fail.

Obviously the factory thought 400 HP was OK, as that's what the ZR1's made. No differences in the frame between the LT1 Cars and the ZR1's.
Supposedly - the factory had C4 mules with between 600 & 700 HP running around their proving grounds and that was also supposedly about the "limit" on the chassis.

Trans, rear end, suspension, etc... Is what you have to worry about when adding power to these cars.
The car itself will not be over powered.
383 /nitrous is barely even a concern for anything depending if it is stick or not.

No it doesn't. But the car is fully capable of handling the power.

Does anyone know how light can you make a 3,400. lb C4 for drag racing?
Using the stock frame and running gear and bare minimum body?

I know a guy that is putting out just over 1000 HP out of a twin turbo LS1 427 in an 85 and it does just fine with drag radials on it.
