I'm still fiddling with my emissions problem on my 96 LT-1, seems like I got a Bank 2 x Sensor 2 bad. Do I have to remove the Cat to replace the sensor? It's trapped between the floorboard and exhaust, I pulled the starter, front wheel, wheel well, and all that's left now is to pull the Cat!....only problem is..... the previous owner welded the joint on the tail end of the cat!! You could have a muffler shop weld on a new bung to relocate the sensor in a suitable location.
Cut the wire on the old unit and forget it.
Ahhh! Good answer! I may be able to unscrew the sensor, but will not be able to dis-connect or re-connect the wires from tne clip. I may just have to cut the wires and re-solder?
Thanks for the suggestion.
I relocated mine and dont know your system well enough but i have holes ive cut in my floor board for easy access to my slave cylinder. Just an idea for yours, plug them up when not in use, wont make a big difference

There's a heat shield between the floorboard and the Cat, looks like it's riveted up by the floorboard. Looks like I'll be pulling the cat from the exhaust manifold, my next post will be" How to remove broken studs from exhaust manifold? or "96 LT-1 for sale-needs minor work"
Thanks for the suggestions, and if you come up with anything I'll be checking in.
