Default Need some help with antenna cable '90 Bose

My car came to me with an aftermarket stereo installed and I am converting it back to stock bose. Fortunately the CDM was still in place; however, the antenna coax was re-routed to the replacement radio. I don't have to tell you how difficult it is to see, much less reach, any of the wiring or components in that area. Can someone tell me how the antenna lead is supposed to route and where physically it plugs into the CDM? I can't see a hole for it, but think I might be able to feel it at the rear outside corner, just behind the fuse block. But the antenna cable doesn't seem to be long enough to reach there. Is there supposed to be an extension cable perhaps? Anyway, if someone is familiar with the physical layout and can guide me I would much appreciate it. I've searched the posts and about all I can find is advice to replace...opposite of what I want. I believe it is the same for 90 and 91; not sure when they started putting the CDM behind the passenger seat. Thanks in advance!

Can't tell you much about your '90 CDM, since my '96 CDM was in a different location.

But I can tell you that every aftermarket stereo unit I've even seen uses a different size plug than the factory CDM used on the end of the antenna cable.
So, look for some kind of adapter on your current setup.
Unplug the adapter and the cable should fit in the factory CDM.

Thanks. There was an adapter on the jvc stereo; about 6" long. I assumed the remaining cable is the factory and it does have a smaller plug than the Motorola standard that has been around for about 60 years. But where does it plug into the CDM? I can't see up there well enough to go looking for the receptacle so was sure hoping someone could tell me where to look.

I had my 90 cdm box repaired at factory car stereo repair inc. in Longwood, Fl. Not that that will help you but when he removed the cdm he made a video for his how to web site. and he had to unhook the ant. then install it back after the repair
Try. www.carstereohelp.com
or better yet someone made a post of how to videos on the forum,

Thanks; that was a big help. It tells me that the hole I can feel at the corner is in fact the antenna jack, and the cable appears to be in good shape. Now the only problem is that it doesn't seem to reach, and I'm not sure how it's supposed to be routed. That is about the hardest to get to system I've ever encountered!

I appreciate the link!
