If you are planning on using a spray to clean it a bit then run the engine and spray the throttle body. You will have to operate the throttle by hand to open it.

If you really want to clean it well then remove the throttle body and take the IAC off. This will allow you to clean it more thoroughly. Once clean it might be best to put a new IAC on, depending on how old the part is.

BTW, what year is the car?

The IAC being bad should cause a high or low idle problem, not a miss...If you hook your car up to a scanner, you can watch the IAC to see if its working properly....WW

Yes the idle does go high and low some times not all the time, onlywhen im at a stop light. I did get a new IAC and i will change it when i take the throttle body off and clean it better and see. hope that will be the problem. thanks for your input.

When you clean the TB, take the plate off the bottom and use Brake cleaner or Carb cleaner to get all the gunk out of the air chambers running under there. These get alot of gunk in them that can cause the air not to flow like it should.Be sure to clean the area where the pintle on the IAC seats.....An old toothbrush is a good tool to clean with...WW
