Default Manual changeover to auto help

I want to change my 1990 c4 zf 6 speed to an auto. What trans should i use 700r ? 4l60e with vett tail housing ? Does the 4l need a computer to shift ? And will my manual tork brace fit the auto trans ? As for shifter i a b&m i will use

i know, why give up a zf6 that i bought new not rebuilt 2 yrs ago for an auto? Well my left leg dont work anymore and i love my c4

I WILL ADD PHOTOS OF MY BABY THIS WEEKEND

My 84 had a 4+3 and I switched to a 700r4 and finally a 4l60e for drag racing. For me, the 4l60e was really easy to dial in part and full throttle shift points with a laptop. It does require an aftermarket computer controller. I used a TCI. You will either need to redrill your C-beam or get one for an automatic. They aren't that expensive. Good luck.

You sure about that ? I thought the holes only got out of line if the third member changed d36 to d44 or vice versa.

I put an automatic in place of my 4+3 and the holes lined up perfectly granted it was not a ZF6 like he has.

I have never done it but I thought a ZF6 would drop in place of a 4+3.

I think you might be right about that, Project. My fingers sometimes work faster than my brain and I made the conversion over 10 years ago.

Depends what you need?
A T700 / 4L60 doesn't need the electronic controller and was what came stock in your model
Some wiring mods for the convertor (TCC ) lockup and you are in business reusing your existing driveshaft and C Beam.

Will need to swap the ZF6 yoke on your driveshaft for a reg ( PG / TH350 / T700 ) 27 spline GM yoke
