Since i bumped the timing to 10° car feels much responsive
i will try to get it to 12° with no detonation.
Tried to avoid wheelspin as much as possible
Gradual launch on drag radials at 28 psi.
GTech says 4.94 seconds !
I'm improving !
What i don't like about the '87 display is the lag that they show the numbers
it's not like one number after another , it jumps from 0 to 30 then 65 or so ...
same thing for the speedometer.
thanks , i think i can do better
i did other launch later , this time full throttle , spinning a lot and i did worst.
So it's all on the launch , find the sweet spot when you don't spin, then
knowing when to floor it , seems like im getting closer to what my combo
is supposed to do.

what you think ?
Your welcome.. with the initial adavance.. I had plenty of tune time on my HSR
Bumping the timing at idle really does help with a bigger cam than stock. I remember when I figured this out with a 400 SBC I built years ago. The thing was a dog at low rpm with stock timing of 6, I finally ended up with 12 if I remember right, it really did wake up the motor.
Yes, i was told that several times, but i did and felt no difference (maybe because the tranny was going south) so i decided to leave it at 6°.
Forgot about it and adjusted it one year later, im pleased !
i have the 219 Lingenfelter cam :

Learn how to use TunerPro Sammy. Or, datalog and have Alvin burn another bin. Advancing the dizzy because you gave up on tuning isn't the right way to do this. Seriously.
If I were to guess. you're running a bit more responsive off-idle...Maybe even faster up to 3k rpms. After that, I bet it feels flat and might be going slower.
Thanks Gregg , no i have not gave up on that, i will datalog to check what is
exactly going on there. i want the best of my set up and i'm sure we can do better
and that's with fine tuning only !
