93 Window Regulator Question
I've been reading this forum for about a year now and have picked up lots of interesting information but now I've got a question. I have a '93 and the last time I was out and about in it the passenger side window made a pretty nasty noise and stopped going up. Once I figured out how to get the door apart, examination revealed the the regulator was actually hitting the window. I think it needs replaced but just to be sure:
-I checked the plastic guide (bushing?) and rod at the front of the door. They both appear to function properly.
-The rear of the window is attached to the (almost) vertical aluminum guide and that runs freely.
-The (almost) horizontal aluminum guide runs freely on its bearings but does not appear to be connected to the window. The one picture that I could see it sort of clearly in seemed to indicate that it should be attached to the other guide and to one of the studs that go through the window. I ca see marks where it may have been originally attached...
Any guidance would be appreciated. (Then I get to tackle putting the door back together. It would be easier if I was at all mechanically inclined! <grin>)
Thanks!
Jerry
