I got a 91 ZR1 12,000 miles. Minor miss (flutter) gets worse as engine heats up. Local Chev dealer unable to diagnose, partially due to, they say, they don't have the tech 1 diagonistic instrument/tool. Does anyone know a GOOD LT1 mechanic or know who might have the Tech 1 diagnostic devise. I'm located in Fayette county...near Uniontown.

Any info will be appreciated.....Thanks

Check for vacuum leaks or leaks around the air intake or throttle body. It is possible that when it heats up it is getting too much air from somewhere.

Just a thought.

So where is Fayette county and Uniontown? I am in Pierce county, in Puyallup. I am sure you know where that is.
If we know where you live maybe some suggestions of who can work on a LT5 can be made. I know it would NOT be a Chev dealer.

My best guess would be a dirty injector....the age of the car is troublesome...although it is a remarkable piece of history and mechanical art, yrs ahead of its time, its still subject to time. It does not take much at all to ruin the internals of a delicate system thats as precise as fuel metering. The Z back then was just like the avg gen-1 chevy...just twice everything. The birth date tells me that the ethanols since then have probably done a little damage to inj insides, and the possibility of being improperly stored at some point has to be considered.
I'd go thru the plugs and look for a couple that were burning slightly different. That might help ID the suspect cylinders.
As simple as it sounds...dose it with Marvel Mystery oil in the gas to see if that might loosen sticky or slow injectors. The ohms testing only speaks to the electrical workings...fuel injectors are also mechanical and have moving parts that get gummed up from sitting with fuel.

Lots of guys use the RC inectors. Check the C4Zr1 section here or the zr1.netregistry site there is a lot of info and helpful members sure one in your area that knows of the right wrench to help.

Like leesvet said more than likely those old multecs are going bad. Coils can act funky when they get that way too. Need to find someone in your area that knows those cars specifically. The guys at the registry will help you out.
