Hey all
I have a slight squeak in the rear end as i drive. Is this usually a bearing issue? Not sure if I need to have the bearing assemblies rebuilt.
Maybe you should just eat more fibre.
Seriously thougjh, your noise may be a U-joint. Does it sound like a squeak that's related to vehicle speed, or is it random? If random, it may be as simple as a sway bar bushing that's gone dry. Wheel bearings are easy to check. Lift the car, grab the wheel at top and bottom, and push back and forth. If there's play, it's your bearing.
Could also be brake pads. Try removing the pads and lapping them a little on a flat piece of concrete like a smooth sidewalk to get rid of the silica that sometimes contaminates them. Works great to expose some new material.
