I have replaced the optic spark ,coil, coil mod,and emc.I still have a no spark.I have seen a after market ignition on some lt-1 race cars.Does any one here know who makes them and their contact number?

Just my $0.02, but stick with the basics. Do you have voltage to the opti, do you have some kind of pulsed power to the low voltage side of the coil. Do you have a questionable coil ground ??? If those are OK - do you have spark coming out of the coil, and getting "lost" after it heads to the Opti ???

While the opti is a known problem on the LT1/LT4 motors, if all else fails go back to the basics. The coil still works like any other ignition coil, killing the current through the coil cllapses the magnetic field and creates the spark.

Check the FSM and see what terminal on the connector that goes to the opti is V+, verify that you have power, and if so - try to back probe the low res and high res connectors with a digital meter to see if there is some kind of varying voltage signal on those leads. Yeas ago - I found out that if both the low res and high res pickups are not producing any output you won't get any Check Engine light - the ECM relies on one of them working...

GOOD LUCK !!!

Are you sure it is spark? Have you disconnected a lead to see if it arcs?

Do you have fuel pressure?

Any codes? If you don't have spark coming off of the coil then it is either the coil or the Ignition Control Module. If you are getting codes then it it probably the module. A friend of mine had a similar problem with his LT1.

Default It runs

We replaced all the parts again ,with the orginal parts that came on the car in 2005.It started up.I hooked the MSD box up and it blew every thing again.I took all the new parts and got new ones.I put them on the car minus the MSD box and it runs.I guess the box was the problem, that started every thing.
Thanks for the help I received.I have a new MSD box,I will put it on Friday.
