GM opti vid
Thought was an interesting look at the opti. I know they focus on the Buick, but it's the same Opti.
It pointed out a few things to me in terms of maintenance that I didn't really think about, especially for those of us with the vented opti's. Like the check valves and filter in the intake vacuum line. I didn't think about the gases that build up and shorten the life of the opti. Or that if plugged the vacuum created in the opti actually pulls the cap down into the rotor.
I wonder how many opti's have been replaced when the real culprit was a clogged line or faulty wiring harness?
