Default Wheel interchangeability

I have a stock '95 LT1. This has the 8.5" wide front rims. Is there any problem caused by mounting the 9.5" wide Z07/ Pace Car rims on the front of mine. Will they even fit?

Thanks folks!

Mike

No problem. Yes, they fit. And if you have 17x9.5 on all four corners you can rotate front to rear.

Earlier cars have 9.5" with 275/40's on all four corners.

GM went to the narrower rim and 255/45 tire in '93 apparently because of owner complaints about the wide fronts tracking in road grooves

Yes that can be an issue if you run low tire pressures like 30 psi, 35 or 38 psi all but eliminates the tracking issues.

I have 275/40/17 all round and the car is very well behaved even on uneven road contours.

My 94 has 275/40 -17 tires wrapped around 17 x9.5 wheels and has been lowered 1.5 inches. I have very, very little rubbing on my inner front fenders from having wheel turned all the way and bottoming out. Nothing to worry about though at all.
