Water pump question
I have a 96 LT4 that needs a new water pump. what brand should I get? I see in the catalogs, Edelbrock or MAM sells chrome or polished but they don't say who makes them. Is there a big difference in performance or reliability between what advance auto sells or what you can buy from Eclkers or MAM etc? also, what gaskets/seals do I need and do they usually come with the pump? I just want to have all the parts when I start. I have found some great threads for this so I think I can manage, I just didn't find any info on which pump to go with. Thanks

One vote for a stock GM Pump.
The LT1/LT4 Pump is VERY different from the 1st Gen SBC pump. Those 1st Gen pumps simply will not fit an LT4. Many people have gone with the electric Meziars pump - and there are good solid reasons to do that - but the stock pump is being used on many many HP C4's with very good results.
IMHO - Spend your time searching for a good price on a new stock pump, and then do thejob right - do a full cooling system drain, and coolant replacement.
