pull dash pad, pull all the bezels, center, cluster and cluster screws. not that hard. Finding all the screws is the fun part. oh yeah, the dash pad snaps in place besides having a handfull of screws to hold it.... you have to jerk it straight to the rear to unhook the snaps...be damn sure the screws are out first..! don;t miss the 2 in the def vent. Take tilt wheel lever off too, shifter in N to get bezels off.

Does anybody know an easy way to remove the dash cluster, i have a 1986 corvette. im replacing it. Thanks
I've done it too many times, unfortunately. Disconnect negative battery cable. Tilt Steering wheel down and remove tilt lever.Remove Headlight switch ****. remove all bezel screws. Remove cluster screws (long magnetic extention on socket makes it easier). Very carefully tilt the Cluster top towards you. This requires some gentle lifting of edge of dash to make it happen. Don't lift too much, dash is brittle. With the dash tilted towards you, you need to gently pry the metal electrical connector "keeper" open. I used a very small screw driver to do this. Then slide out the electrical connector. Do the same for the second electrical connector. If you use a mirror, it's easier to see this "keeper". What ever you do, don't yank on the connector without releasing the keeper or you'll end up with a handfull of wire ends. If you get frustrated, stop, get a cup of coffee and try later. It's tedious but do-able. Mostof the good cluster removal sites forget to mention these keepers. They just say remove the connector. I wish I would have known about them before I forced mine off the first time and broke the plastic connector.
